Nataban Peak on the Philippine island of Negros is a large bowl facing roughly SSW — the prevailing wind direction of the rainy season. In S to SW winds, expect good ridge lift almost all around the bowl. Before the thermals get strong the lift is quite smooth and the flying is very pleasant. The best launch spot depends on the exact wind direction on the day — pick anywhere along the top of the ridge around the centre section of the bowl where the ground is grass.

Getting there & local rules
Reached from the highway between San Carlos and Bacolod. Take the Barangay road to Nataban 19 km from San Carlos, just before 'Our Lady of Peace' High School in Prosperidad. Follow the barangay road about 1 km and stop on the bend, then hike up to the back of the ridge.
Local rules & hazards
No known regulations for free flying in the Philippines. Easiest launches are early morning before cloud development and thermals kick in. Once thermals start, watch for sudden wind-direction changes — if the wind swings west (or NW), the bowl below ridge level can turn turbulent and rough. The terrain to the east drops away sharply — do NOT enter that area unless the wind is east of south.
