Tenerife – Benijo

Benijo is a north-facing coastal site on Tenerife's rugged northeast coast, with launch above the black-sand Playa de Benijo. It's a north-wind-only site, so check that direction specifically before heading out — one pilot reported flying it in weak north wind during early February and finding solid thermals that let them climb through the afternoon. The approach on foot takes about 15 minutes uphill from the restaurants in Benijo village, following a trail that doesn't show up clearly on standard mapping apps, so it helps to have an offline hiking map loaded before you go; launch itself sits a short distance east of the main walking path. Because the site sits right above a popular beach, keep the area clean — pack out any litter you find on the way down, both as basic courtesy and because it keeps the site welcoming for the next pilot.
