Placivel

Placivel is regarded as one of the best flying sites in Venezuela, prized for easy access, good facilities on site, and flyable conditions through the year. It sits near La Victoria in Aragua state, on the road toward La Colonia Tovar. The hill offers two distinct take-offs depending on the wind: a west-facing launch just a short walk from the parking area, and an east-facing one on the far side of the hill, roughly 10 to 15 minutes on foot. That flexibility means pilots can often find a flyable direction even when the wind shifts through the day, with soaring possible from east, southeast, southwest or west. Bring a helmet and reserve parachute as standard kit here. Summers run hot, and thermals build strong around midday, so many pilots plan around the cooler morning or later afternoon rather than launching into the peak heat. With good access and services plus year-round flyability, Placivel is a solid reference site for visiting pilots in central Venezuela.
