Palomar

Palomar is one of San Diego County's best mountain sites, thanks to a favourable valley microclimate — but it's a strictly access-controlled site. Both launches and LZs are on private property behind locked gates, and SDHGPA has only recently been given permission by the Pala Tribal Council to access the primary areas after a lengthy site closure. Because of that agreement and other landowner arrangements, site protocol is critical to keeping Palomar open. Current USHPA and SDHGPA membership are required, and only designated LZs may be used.
