Where it is
Crozet (Les Deux Potes) sits in the Haute Chaîne du Jura, right on the edge of the Geneva TMA. Strict compliance with airspace regulations is required, and the site also lies inside the Haute Chaîne du Jura national nature reserve, with overflight restrictions set by a prefectoral order. The launch favours NE, E, SE to S wind; SW, W, NW and N are unfavourable. In stronger SW/W/N winds, launching from Les Deux Potes is still possible but expect turbulence.
Launch & conditions
Favourable in NE, E, SE to S. Unfavourable in SW, W, NW to N. Depending on wind strength, launching in SW/W to N is possible but with turbulence.
Getting there & local rules
On foot: about 1h30 from the parking (goes quickly). Park at landing and hike up to the top of the cable car. By cable car when open, but hours are limited. Cars are NOT allowed up. Landing at coordinates 46.2758 / 6.0131, altitude 560 m — large, open but thermic. Do NOT overfly the houses marked in red, the tennis courts, the school or the play areas. Don't fly your final too close to the road (distracts drivers, disturbs residents). Parking is COMPULSORY at the school or Salle du Rossillon car park.
Local rules & hazards
TMA de Genève — strict airspace compliance required. Site is inside the Haute Chaîne du Jura national nature reserve — overflight restrictions apply by prefectoral order. A wind streamer visible on the cable car webcam is a great indicator of wind direction at takeoff. Landing is thermic even though large — always be aware of tree rotor depending on wind direction.
Check conditions before you fly

Flyable days by month
A day counts as flyable when the surface wind held in your range, from a direction the site flies, with no rain, for at least 2 hours in a row (08:00–20:00) — from hourly 10 m wind over the last 12 months. A seasonal wind guide only: it can't judge gusts, thermals or turbulence, and never replaces the live forecast, airspace checks and your own judgement.
