Where it is
Moclin is a thermal and soaring site in Granada province, Andalusia, with launch around 1,149 m above the town of Puertolope. The site sits close to Granada Airport's controlled airspace, which caps flying here at 300 m above ground level — a hard limit rather than a suggestion, given how near the CTR boundary runs. Thermals build strongly in summer, so afternoons can turn punchy. Landing is flexible: pilots come down at any suitable spot beside Puertolope rather than a single designated field. Access is straightforward by road — take the N-432 between Granada and Córdoba, and turn off toward Moclin in the middle of Puertolope town. It's a hike-friendly site as well as a soaring and thermal one, making it a reasonable stop for pilots exploring the wider Granada flying area, provided the airspace ceiling is respected.
