Davos – Weissfluhjoch – 2650

Weissfluhjoch is a high-alpine launch above Davos in the Graubünden Alps, at roughly 2,630 m just below the top station of the Parsennbahn cable car, next to the Parsenn Rapid chairlift. It's flown only in winter and only in weak wind, from a launch that favors a southeast breeze, and pilots getting there ride the Parsennbahn up from Davos rather than hiking. The traditional landing field, Seewiese beside the Davoser See, is currently closed, so anyone planning to fly here needs to work out where to land before launching. Swiss airspace around Davos is also worth double-checking in advance: the whole area closes to flying whenever the World Economic Forum is in session, and Swiss airspace rules generally are intricate enough that it's worth confirming the current picture before a flight. This is a serious, high-altitude site for pilots who already fly thermals and cross-country, not a casual first outing.
